FPS EXPO 2019 Promises All Things New To Mark Its 39th Anniversary

As the doors open on the 39th anniversary of FPS EXPO, the largest event dedicated to the liquid fuels distribution industry, visitors are set to enjoy a variety of new features over the next two days.

Welcome to FPS EXPO 2019 – and to the Exhibition Centre Liverpool, which has been home to this event for the past four years. Visitors will enjoy the 8,100sq metres of exhibition floorspace on offer, with over 100 exhibitors joining us this year, ranging from regulars like MAN Truck and Bus Ltd, Phillips 66 Ltd, Cobo UK, TankQuip, and Elaflex, through to newcomers like The Oil Recycling Association, Miles Macadam, and Dipetane International Ltd.

Show organiser and liquid fuels trade association, The Federation of Petroleum Suppliers (FPS) is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and has expanded the range of both exhibitors and features at EXPO to mark the occasion. Other trade associations have been included for the first time, and there will be a dedicated area for The Original Recycling Association (ORA), plus an area on renewable energies.

“We’re very excited about this year’s FPS EXPO and want to build on the success of our 2018 show,” comments Dawn Shakespeare, FPS Membership and Events Manager.

“Among the key new attractions is the introduction of panel sessions in the seminar theatre, across the two days. They will cover different industry-relevant topics including the UK supply chain and more tailored issues, such as the Clean Growth Strategy and Road to Zero government policies, as well as issues specific to Ireland. These panel discussions promise to be a highlight of the event and will offer an unrivalled opportunity to meet some of the key players in the industry, while also being a way of guiding conversations as industry faces some uncertain times.

“There is also new dedicated FPS information available this year. The FPS team will be on the FPS stand No 172 for anyone who wants to find out more about the services we offer including Fuel Certification, Licence Checker, Driver Hire and HR services as well as answer any questions on legislation requirements for tanker drivers. Visitors to the FPS stand will also be able to meet FPS Council members, who will be able to provide information on member benefits and discuss industry technologies and issues in general.

“Our long-running FPS Awards including the OAMPS Hazardous Industries sponsored Driver of the Year Award and QBE Insurance Depot of the Year Award will take place during the Presidents Reception on the evening of 15 May. This year we have a new award, The FPS Green Award, sponsored by OilShield, for outstanding environmental initiatives.

2019 has also seen the introduction of the FPS EXPO 2019 App. Visitors and exhibitors can use the app to see what is happening, engage with delegates and exhibitors, create your own personal agenda, take notes, store documents and hear about all the special offers and giveaways.

Guy Pulham, FPS Chief Executive, adds: “We hope that the new initiatives and areas enhance the experience for exhibitors and delegates alike. These two days represent a wonderful opportunity for everyone involved in the liquid fuels distribution sector to network, display or discover new technologies and products and gain information on relevant topics. If you have any queries during the next two days, please don’t hesitate to speak to me or a member of the FPS staff as we’ll be happy to help.”
